Joe Staton redrew Millennium #1 cover

Sep 16, 2026 | 02:34:47 PM | Vu

Did you know Joe Staton had to redraw the Millennium #1 cover due to some changes on costumes (note: Blue Beetle) and faces (note: Looker & Halo) - also justice for Salaak, who was dropped off the published cover. The book was three weeks late, according to the interview with Joe Staton (see link)... the colorist just gave up and color the whole cover green.

Excerpt from DC in the 80s interview:

Since the book was so late -- and it was at a time that there were a lot of changes going into the DC books (a lot of costumes were changing and different things) -- basically I penciled with what information I had, Ian inked with what he had, and then the whole thing came back to the production department who kind of re-drew things on the fly trying to make everybody's costume look right before it went out.
