Unfortunately, during George Perez's retirement, the pandemic lock-down, and declining health in the later years, he would offer autographs and sketch from his home and the prices reflect the times. Personally speaking, the prices are still a bargain from someone with George's legendary status.

Mr. George Pérez and I have discussed & decided to turn over the facilitation of his individual, personal sketch or the smaller signing opportunities to Mr. Steve McDonald and his business ... Clan McDonald Comics.
Mr. McDonald is a CBCS Facilitator with a great history of truly amazing customer care and service. I cannot recommend their services highly enough. You are truly in not just good, but in GREAT hands.
Although we have had to raise the prices a bit, Clan McDonald Comics will be offering regular MONTHLY opportunities as compared to occasional opportunities from the various other facilitators or even myself. Also, the available sketch options ( including now readily accepting sketch cover requests ) have increased as well as the available payment options. I am sorry, like in the past ... there are still NO real people ( such as Han Solo, Princess Leia or Luke Skywalker etc. ) NO likenesses of any kind, NO jam board commissions and NO sketch card opportunities available. We are sorry.
If you wish to use CGC services for facilitation, there are MANY options available including CGC directly sponsored signing and sketch events. Please contact me at [email removed] for a recommendation or more details if any are available at the time of your request.
Previously, PayPal was the only accepted method. NOW, with Clan McDonald Comics, the acceptable payment methods are Checks, ALL major Credit Cards, Pay Pal, Venmo and Bank Wire. Just as with PayPal, there may be service fees based upon your chosen payment method. Clan McDonald Comics is a professional facilitator and is much better equipped to handle to sheer volume of small or single requests that Mr Perez and I receive.
First and foremost, they have a staff ... which I do not. With Clan McDonald Comics handling the day in / day out aspect of the job ... it is freeing me for other work that needs to be done.
For those gossip hounds that may be wondering ... NO, Mr. Perez and I have NOT parted ways in any fashion whatsoever. In fact, this was my idea to better serve him and his fans. I am still directly involved with Mr Perez for ALL of his art business in case any issue arises.

Happy New Year to all my fans, friends and family!
Well, today, Jan. 19th, 2020, marks ONE YEAR since I officially announced my retirement from drawing comics and attending comic convention.
I have to say that my life has been quite nice, although a bit busier than I anticipated. I can tell you that I have been enjoying not having to deal with the stress and strain of air travel and trying to make my way through strange surroundings with my less-than-perfect vision.
However, there’s one thing I didn’t consider when I announced that I would no longer be attending conventions, sketching and doing commissions. I always took great pleasure and personal pride in the amount of money those activities raised for the many charities, friends and family members I’ve helped through the years. I find that, despite enjoying the downtime, I really do need to keep drawing …it is, after all, what I do and who I am.
So, that being said, after much consideration and a lot of requests, I’ve decided to start doing private home commissions again. There will be a few restrictions due to my vision issues, such as no backgrounds ( unless I decide to throw one in on my own ), no multi figure group shots, no portraits of real people and no cover recreations. What I will be able to offer are Full-Figure marker line art with pencil-tone illustrations on standard 11” X 17” comic industry Bristol Board and convention-style head shots on 9” X 12” Bristol paper ( no pencil tones ).
Please understand that these will not be inexpensive since I want to be able to raise as much money as possible and I’m limited to how many commissions I can draw any given week without straining my eyes & starting to see double.
For those that will be asking … the prices will be as follows :

Further, in addition to my annual appearances at Dragon Con and Fetish Con … I have one more make-up convention appearance to honor in 2020, which should be officially announced in a few weeks … that will be my entire convention schedule for this year. For said appearance, we will accept a limited number of pre-convention sketch requests. There will be a limited quantity available. Check my fan website for more information as they become available.
Next bit of good news … In addition to the sketch offerings … I will also be offering private, bulk signings for those wishing to participate in those as well. CGC & CBCS signings are welcome as well as long as proper arrangements are made in advance. Minimum quantity for all signings are 50 pieces. Larger quantities are encouraged and available with proper arrangements as well. Prices available upon request based upon volume.

To all my loyal and kind fans who have supported me throughout the decades,
In recent months, there has been a great deal of speculation as to the future of my career, my health, my ability to draw and my future convention appearances. As a result, I would like to clear up everything first hand so that, hopefully, any rumors, speculation and misinformation can be laid to rest.
With respect to future published work in comics and such ... while I know it’s been no secret that I’ve been dealing with a myriad number of health issues (diabetes, heart ailments, vision issues, etc.), they have indeed have forced me to, for all intents and purposes, formally retire from the business of creating new comic stories.
As for home commission requests, I’m afraid that my retirement must now extend to privately commissioned drawings as well. While I am gratified that all of the customers who have received their pieces were more than pleased with the results, some even consequently commissioning more of them, it’s just becoming too much of a strain on my eyes to produce the fully rendered ink and pencil-tone pieces on a quality level that justifies the price I’m being paid for them.
In regards to convention sketches, I will need to cut back on those as well. While I will no longer sketch at the conventions themselves, I will, through my art agent Spencer Beck of The Artists Choice, be taking orders for 5 ( FIVE ) con-style head sketches, per convention day that I am in attendance which will be done at home to be collected at the conventions. Fans placing orders must be personally present to pick up the piece , NO PROXIES. The price for these will be a good deal pricier than in the past, going for $100 each, but please take some solace that all the monies I earn for these sketches, as well as my appearance fees, will be donated to various charities. Furthermore, for those that are interested … although I will only be attending about six conventions this year and one make up convention in 2020 ( *** see below for complete schedule ) 2019 will more than likely be my last year touring this great land meeting so many great fans. As the next decade begins, I have two shows, Dragon Con and Fetish Con that have personal meaning to me which I intend to attend yearly unless circumstances prevent it … but, for all intents, 2019 will wind down that part of my career as well. The good news is, even though I will not be sketching at the shows, I will still be autographing and be available for photo ops, and, as has been my policy throughout my career, I will not be charging for either.
In closing, please don’t feel sorry for me about all these life and career changes. Thankfully I earn more than enough income through royalties to have a comfortable life wherein I may never need to work again. Unless, of course, something really tempting comes along and I’m given sufficient lead time. Hey, you never know.
Long story short, I will be just fine. I’ve had a wonderfully good run doing exactly what I have wanted to do since I was a child. Now I can sit back and watch the stuff I helped create entertain whole new generations. That’s a pretty nice legacy to look back on.
And so much of that is thanks to all of you, the GREATEST fans in the world. I am humbled and forever grateful.

We will be taking HEAD SHOT ONLY advance orders before show appearances. These will be the same types of drawings he has been doing at shows for years on 9" x 12" board head shots only. Although we have not set it in stone, most likely the price will be $50. To protect George, we will require prepayment. You will just need to bring a receipt to the show to pick up your piece. Although there is no guarantee, most likely they will be more detailed than in the past as if he is doing them at home where he won't be trying to do them as fast as he can to get to the next fan, hence there will be the per show limit.
Of course, he is still doing the full body pencil, Copic marker ink.and pencil tone commissions for the $700 and $1,100 levels as well. These a full figure, fully detailed pieces that are single figures only. No more than one figure per piece ... all subject to approval.
Exact show commission details will be announced towards the end of 2018 as we prepare for the 2019 convention circuit.
In the meantime, if you wish to order the full body pieces, please get in touch with me at [email removed] to place an order, for samples or any questions related to the full body commissions. I am sorry, NO head shot commissions until 2019. No exceptions, I am sorry.
NOTE: George will draw these commissions on 9x12 boards prior to the convention appearance for pickup, so he cannot draw on your personal sketch book or requested surfaces. Also, there will be a limit to how many George can draw per convention appearance.

Hello to all!
First of all, I want to once again thank everyone for all the well wishes, prayers, emails, cards and texts and phone calls since news of my recent heart attack hit social media. I am touched, flattered and humbled by all the love and concern.
As most everyone knows, my commitment to recovery has forced me to cancel all my convention appearances and my regular workload has shrunk to nearly zero, by my own choice, since producing deadline driven detailed comics work in my current condition is not really practical or recommended. However, despite all my hopefully temporary limitations, I am still an artist, and I really do need to keep drawing something. So. After doing a few private commissions for some friends, I have decided to offer home commissions to the public again, but in order to keep my stress levels as low as possible, with some strict guidelines.
Samples are available upon request of what I am offering.
Each commission will be limited to one single character per drawing, usually drawn with Copic markers with added pencil tones on 9 x 12 Bristol board. . I prefer using the pencil tones because detailed ink work is a bit eye wearying right now, especially with my vision treatments still ongoing. No backgrounds will be added unless I choose to add something minimal subject to my own judgement on the composition.
The price is $700.00 plus shipping, which I know is not cheap, but I will try to make it worth the cost.
Payment in full would be required before the commission will be started. However, it will be held in escrow so if at any time you wish a full refund ( and your piece has not yet been started ) the money can be refunded to you within 1 business day. Depending on the number of orders, it may take a substantial amount of time and there is no guarantee that I will be able to draw every request I receive.
I can only draw one of these on any day and I need to limit myself to a 5-day week (allowing me time to do whatever professional work I do accept from the kind publishers during the course of the year).

With Texas Comic Con in San Antonio coming up, I want to post my convention policy in order to formally answer questions I've been asked the last few weeks. I will try to provide this info before all my shows so please excuse what will likely be multiple repeats of this post:
George Pérez’s Convention Policy
I always try to set up at a convention one hour before the convention opens to the general public. This way I am available for sketches, autographs and photographs for dealers, staff and those with VIP Passes that allow them early entry. (I really see no point in fans purchasing a VIP Pass and not having any of the guest artists there to greet them)
All of these early birds are handled on a first come, first served basis.
When the convention floor opens up for those with general admission tickets, I start handing out about a hundred numbered tickets to the arriving fans so they don’t have to get on what may already be a long line.
Fans already at the end of the line (behind the tenth person) also have the option of taking a ticket and leaving the line to return later.
The first digit of the ticket indicates what convention day it is. For a three-day show, the first day’s tickets would be numbered 100 -199, the second day’s 200-299, and so on.
The ticket basically reserves your place in line once I’ve finished with the early crowd. If, say, a fan returns from enjoying the show with ticket number 110 and I’m already serving ticket 125, the returning fan with the lowest number is always next.
Therefore, a fan with a higher ticket number like 155 would never be any worse off time wise than if he or she had waited on line for 54 other fans to be serviced first.
The reason I use this system is because I personally can’t see spending money to come to a show just to stand in line for what could be hours. This way, it’s the fan’s choice whether to wait on line or not.
There is no charge for the ticket and it entitles you to a sketch (limit one per ticket) autographs (I set no limit to the number of things I’ll sign, but do request that fans be considerate of each other) and a photo op.
Sketches are quick headshots for $40 and can be drawn on any surface you prefer. I will provide my own drawing paper for those who don’t have their own.
There is no charge for autographs and photos.
Only one ticket per person, but you can get tickets for family members as long as they are there to use them.
Once you’ve used your ticket, you can get another ticket, if any are still available, and come back later to be served again. You can’t use a previous day’s ticket on a following day since that would be unfair to those who may only have one-day passes that following day.
On each day, if I finish with all the numbered tickets, I will then serve any arriving fans on a first come, first served basis.
Unless there is an unavoidable call of nature, I will remain at my table until the end of each convention day.
I hope this helps everyone understand how I work and that it helps you all enjoy the convention experience better.

Now that I'm back doing conventions again, albeit not as many as I used to, I have been receiving a lot of e-mails regarding commissioned sketches and I need to clarify a few things.
For the last couple of years I've had to institute a "lottery" style system at conventions to manage the large number of fans who want to get a sketch. What's usually done is that, during the first hour of the convention day, I, or an assistant, gives out a ticket stub to anyone who desires a sketch. The other half of the ticket is put into a bowl.After an hour all the tickets are stirred up in the bowl and a small number (usually about 10) are drawn from that bowl. The 10 winners then pay the price for the sketch (which is now $100) and I get those sketches done during the course of the convention day. Please note that all money earned during my convention time goes to charity (usually the Hero Initiative, but this applies to any charity I'm raising money for).
This method seems to have gone over very well in the past couple of years and it gives every fan an even chance, whether he or she is a dealer already on the convention floor before the doors open or a fan waiting on line either at the start of the line or the end (the first hour of the show should be enough time to allow everyone on an average convention line to get into the hall)
Now, due to the extremely hectic nature of a convention and the flattering number of fans who line up for sketches and/or autographs I did have to set up some rules and limitations, which, once explained, I hope you all understand and accept.
1. The first ticket handed out to a customer is free. However, due to fan requests and past experiences, you can increase your chances at winning a sketch by donating a dollar for each extra ticket you want. The winner would still have to pay the price of the sketch once he or she wins.
This was actually a fan's idea, and proved to be both popular and profitable. One fan paid over $70 dollars in tickets, knowing he would then have to pay the price of the sketch as well when he won. Ironically, he didn't win and one other fan actually won with the free ticket he had, not having purchased any extra chances. In a touching, and in the true spirit of charity, the winner with the free ticket gave his ticket to the guy who had paid so much money. Now, that's a side of fandom I love to see, and it's one of the wonderful side benefits of the system I've adopted.
2. Only one win per customer per day.
Again, this was done in the name of fairness to everyone, but also brought about a spontaneous act of charity and camaraderie among the fans when the winners started distributing the rest of their tickets to the other waiting fans, thus increasing the chances of winning for those whose numbers had not yet been drawn. The best side of fandom yet again, and it makes for a nice block party atmosphere. This whole process is repeated every day, so a person can conceivably win more than one sketch if he or she has a winning number on separate days. New tickets are used each day, so preceding days' tickets are void after the day of drawing.
3. You have to be there to win.
Pretty obvious, really, since the tickets only have numbers and no names. However, if you need to leave early and it doesn't look like I will get to your sketch before your departure, shipping arrangements can be made for a nominal fee, unless you or a proxy can pick it up the following day. You don't have to be there while your sketch is being drawn since we will write down your name and the character you want drawn. Just check in from time to time to see where you are on the queue.
4. I can only draw portrait drawings (head shots with chest symbol, if any), no full figures.
This is an unavoidable limitation due to the number of autographs I need to sign and panels that I am sometimes required to attend during the course of a convention. Also, please, only fictional characters, no portraits of real people. That's more work than I can do under convention conditions
5. I alternate sketching and autographing times.
In order to get sketches done without interruption, I close my table to autographs for an hour or so in order to get some sketches done. Then I open up for about a half hour for autographs and then go back to sketches for another hour and so on. Times will be posted at the table as the day commences and will be determined by the number of fans there and the number of books to be signed. However, even if I am sketching,please feel free to say hello and chat. I can still do both simultaneously.
6. Regarding autographs, I do not charge for autographs but do request donations for charity, especially if I'm being asked to sign a large number of books.
The size of the donation is not monitored by me, but, being the charity shill that I am, I don't really like to hear the sound of coins landing in the jar. Paper money is so much more calming to my nerves-- and helps needy people even more.
7. For those wanting full-figure sketches, all is not lost. I am now doing such sketches through The Artist's Choice (www.theartistschoice.com) and you should be provided with rates and specifics there.
The rates are pretty high, but, so far, most buyers feel that they've gotten bang for their buck and my goal is to keep my loyal fanbase happy.
Well, if you've read all this, I commend you for your patience and I thank you for your understanding. Hopefully. I will be able to provide you with a sketch that will meet your heart's desire, either at a con or through the mail. In any case, I appreciate the attention and the consideration and shall always strive to be worthy of it all.

As some of you may know, superstar artist George Perez has been creating some beautiful commissioned sketches and fully finished pencil and ink masterpieces for the past few months that have become treasured art pieces for a number of lucky fans and collectors.
Well, for a limited time, and for the first time available to a wider audience, Mr. Perez, through The Artist's Choice, will be expanding and accelerating the number of sketches and fully rendered commissions he will create for any fan with the desire and funds to have their illustrated dreams come true.
During March and April, Mr. Perez will be completing both FINAL CRISIS: LEGION OF 3 WORLDS and a small backlog of fully rendered commissions. Starting in May, George will be taking a month's sabbatical from drawing for the big boys so that he can draw as many sketches and finished works as are ordered and paid for between now and April 10th. Yes, even superstar artists have to deal with the financial crunch of mid-April, but this is where a some lucky fans can benefit from Uncle Sam's wallet picking.
There is practically no limit to what you can have drawn** and there is a price scale that should appease everyone from the casual hobbyist to the serious art collector. Cover recreations, cover reinterpretations, large team shots, cross-company pairings, all this and more will be available to you for this limited time offer.
(**Exceptions include any lewd or inappropriate depiction's of copyrighted characters, and, due to George's exclusive contract with DC Comics, he cannot draw anything, such as original characters created by the purchaser, that could then be published by that customer. All illustrations are for private ownership only.)
Recreate the cover of NEW TEEN TITANS #1? No problem. A reinterpretation of CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS # 7 with Scarlet Witch in the Vision's arms as the Marvel Universe mourns? Yours for the asking. The prices for the fully rendered works will vary, depending on the complexity of the work, although a CRISIS #7 would likely be about $5000, with a limit of two such recreations so that Mr. Perez can look forward to some variety in your choices. The Calgary show was incredibly successful and I went through seven art pads (not including the sketches drawn in fans' own pads and blank covers.) The most amazing thing was the fans themselves insisting that I wasn't charging enough for my sketches and choosing to pay $40 per sketch, instead of $30. I was completely overwhelmed by that. And still the line of waiting fans never ended until the close of each day. Thanks so much for making an old veteran cartoonist feel so loved! (And apologies to all future Canadian fans who will now have to pay the new rate.) I will continue to work hard to be worthy of your respect, affection and generosity!
