Years ago at a San Diego con, Karen Berger and I were bemoaning the fact that DC hadn’t put out a full-color Amethyst collection. George was standing nearby and said that if KB thought it would help sales he’d do a new cover. Not boasting about being a big name, mind you, but simply offering his help with a character he had great affection for. A wonderful man.
